MUA West College Scotland

What were your expectations on starting the course?

I was looking forward to it but nerveous about being older.

What are your thoughts on West College Scotland and Media Makeup course?

I`ve really enjoyed the course and feel i`ve got lucky with my tutors. No boring classes. I`ve also enjoyed special effects which i wasn`t sure i would.

What is your funniest moment of college life so far?

Being in the lift ( full of people ) with Tracey when she had her hair pin curled from class and asking her how long it took to do her hair. Lara, full stop and hearing some of the banter in class.

What is the most interesting that you have learned or learned how to do so far?

To do cuts in special effects and to do straight tv and theatre make-up.

Who is your make-up idol?

Bobbi Brown with out a doubt.

Why do you want to be an MUA?

Because my heart skips a beat when i think about it.

Bobbi Brown......Make up Artist

Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown is an internationally renowned make-up artist. Bobbi was born to a Jewish family in Chicago, Illinois on the sixteenth of April 1957. Bobbi`s love of make-up started at an early age when she discovered her mothers collection of make-up. her passion for beauty continued into her teens and led her Emerson College in Boston where she graduated with a degree in theatrical make-up.

After graduating Bobbi moved to New York to become a professional make-up artist. With her desire to be the best it wasn`t long before her talent and drive earned her coveted bookings with the industries top magazines, photographers and models.

Bobbi`s big break through was her American Vogue cover with Naomi Campbell soon to be supermodel. Frustrated by the lack of natural products and chance meeting with a chemist Bobbi created ten flattering lipsticks in neutral brown shades. These were sold in Bergdorf Goodman under the name of Bobbi Brown Essentials. Bobbi was expecting to sell 100 in a month. She sold 100 in her first day. Women wanted a more natural look rather than the thick pancake look of the time. Bobbi expanded her range and her foundation range which was yellow-based not pink revolutionized the industry.

NASMAH

Hi, well this is day one of my blog. This is a college project and unfortunately our first task is not the most interesting, but bare with me it will get better.

As our first task we were told to blog about links that we found on NASMAH. Well since MAC couldn`t be found on the link, the most interesting to me was Academy of Freelance Makeup, not sure how that will go down with my college, but oh well.

On it`s home page it says that it taught 40 international makeup artists........names please!!!!! If you want us to be interested, we want names.

Well sorry folks this is a college task, so i`m going to end it here for now. Back soon. Sandra x
